What Are the Cars Going To Be Discontinued in 2020?
9. Chevy Impala
This comes bare two years since the official
announcement. The closure of the Detroit-Hamtramck plant also marked the
end Chevy Cruze and Volt. However, this plant will be preparing itself
for the production of electric cars and SUVs. The first expected truck
would be the GMC Hummer EV pickup truck.
And
as the gas-driven car- Chevy Impala disappears from our roads after
nearly 60 years, its competitor from the same plant Buick LaCrosse will
also face the axe.
10. Ford Flex
It wasn’t good news
for the Ford to kill its own Flex; but since its market continued to
sink deeper, the only hard choice left was to let off the Ford Flex.
The
slow-selling seven-seater crossover will also go down with 450 staff.
So sad. But after selling only 20,308 units in 2018, Flex days were
numbered and it wasn’t unexpected.
Many would arguably say 2020
has not been a good year for the automotive industry. But this is just a
continuation of what has been happening and what will continue to
happen. In 2001, the Acura Integra was discontinued while the Dodge
Stealth met its fate in 1996.
And as we move to 2021, it is likely the Dodge Grand Caravan shall appear as the first caravan to drawn.
